Roomates HACKMAN & HOFFMAN labelled “Least Likely to Succeed”

Back in the 60’s, legendary Actors Dustin Hoffman & Gene Hackman worked together at PASADENA PLAYHOUSE and earned the dubious accolade…. “Least likely to succeed”

The rebellious young actors were ill suited to the traditional theatre group with Hackamn being kicked out after just three months.

Dustin Hoffman remembers that, in a time before the breakthrough method of Stanislavsky, Hackman’s acting was so genuine and natural that people thought he useless. They just couldn’t see what he was doing.

“They said he had no talent whatsoever…he was so natural, they didn’t think it was acting…he was that good.”
