Michael Buerk has slammed Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Thompson over their ‘infantile’ world views concerning the refugee crisis.
Earlier this week, former BBC war correspondent – come ‘I’m A celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ rapper spoke openly in criticism of these type of ‘feather-bedded thespians’ who jet off to conflict areas for very brief periods of time and then assume they know what’s best for the people in need.
In an interview with Ross Kemp he said
‘As a superannuated war reporter myself I’m a little sniffy about celebs pratting around among the world’s victims,’ ‘I hate it when feather-bedded thesps pay flying visits to the desperate to parade their bleeding hearts and trumpet their infantile ideas on what ‘must be done.
‘There’s only so much of the Benedict and Emma worldview you can take.’
Cumberbatch has been very vocal about the refugee crisis, recently ending his performances in Hamlet by asking audience members to donate money to Save The Children.
So far he has raised £150,000 which we think you’ll agree isn’t quite as infantile as Buerk would have us believe.
